Sebastian Frankiewicz
Sebastian Frankiewicz is a drummer. He graduated from the Academy of Music in Katowice, where he attended the Faculty of Jazz. He has won Jazz on the Oder competition in Wrocław, Jazz Standards Festival in Siedlce, Golden Crocus in Jelenia Góra and Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa. Since 2002, he has worked with Michał Urbaniak. In previous years, he was a member of bands run by Janusz Muniak, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Artur Dutkiewicz, Mariusz Lubomski, Miki Urbaniak and Zbigniew Wegehaupt. He gives concerts with Lora Szafran, Grzegorz Karnas, Aga Zaryan, Katarzyna Cerekwicka, Urszula Dudziak, Bisquit, Grażyna Auguścik, Wojciech Karolak and Janusz Skowron. He was given a gold record for his project Pogadaj ze mną with lyrics by Wojciech Młynarski and music by Włodzimierz Nahorny. He has performed at jazz festivals in Buenos Aires, London, Vienna, Baku, Saint Petersburg, Tel Aviv, Havana, Beijing, Mexico City, Bucharest, Sibiu, Chisinau, Moscow and Copenhagen. In 2012, the Nowicki/Święs/Frankiewicz trio was nominated to the Fryderyk award for their debut album Pathfinder. Sebastian Frankiewicz received a scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. Since 2016, he has been an assistant lecturer in the jazz percussion class at the University of Rzeszów. His artistic output includes about 40 albums. Apart from teaching and concert activities, he works as a session musician on television shows such as Twoja twarz brzmi znajomo and Taniec z gwiazdami (Dancing with the Stars).
